IdeaFish Publications came to life as a direct response to my love of mini comics. I have had a passion for books from the moment I first learned to read, upside down from whatever my parents were holding, and as I grew and developed as an artist my interest in comic books grew exponentially. The overwhelming tactile experience of holding a comic book won out over more modern methods of publications, so in my last year of college and a mini comic publishing “company” was born.

The IdeaFish name started as a simpler way to mark identity on my mini comics at art fairs and conventions. When I repeatedly used the name for my booth listing at these events it became natural to think of my art studio as having IdeaFish as a named imprint. The logo stems from my own personal logo as an illustrator and graphic designer which is based on one of the doodles I used to make while brainstorming ideas. I would “fish for ideas” and drew a little thought bulb fish idly while I was processing my thoughts and project resources early in college.

As a virtual organization and presentation tool for my publishing goals and ambitions IdeaFish has evolved beyond a simple mini comic shop and convention blog. I now use it as my personal portfolio and as a quoting site for FyireChilde Studios, my freelance illustration and graphic design business, as well as seeking artist and author collaborations to expand my sequential work.
